I’ve been trying to stay warm these past two weeks since we’ve had another one of those polar vortex things in my part of the world. In trying to do so, I’ve been hard at work on the next story in my Wedding Troubles Series. As of now, I’m not sure when I’ll get this story out, but it's coming along and I’m making lots of progress. During all this cold and snow, I thought of Valentine’s Day. Since I write romance, I figured this was a good time of the year to offer a little gift to everyone. So be sure to check back on Friday to see what it is!

I have another new release coming soon. The Maid of Dishonor, the second book in my Wedding Troubles Series. This one has the tropes of an arranged marriage and the wrong sister. It was a lot of fun to write. I don’t have a release date, but it should be soon. The main reason was that my own email address got booted for some unknown reason. There were other reasons, but honestly, this was the big one.   A big happy New Year to everyone! I’m really looking forward to 2026. While I don’t have any big New Year’s resolutions, I have been scheming some plans for the coming year. Besides, New Year resolutions last only about two weeks anyway. While I didn’t publish nearly the amount of stories I wanted to in 2025, I felt I learned a ton of stuff when it comes to writing. I released only two stories in 2025. I know, pathetic, but it was better than no stories, so there’s that. I am nearing the final stages of the next story in my Wedding Troubles Series. I’d hoped to have it out by now, but when Christmas hit this year, I just sort of shut down and enjoyed things. Maybe I needed that because life has been quite stressful since Thanksgiving. My main computer going kaput and both a major and a minor household appliances gave up the ship along with the computer. I think I just needed to take a big step back and regroup.   I had really hoped to get another Holiday Wishes story out this year for Christmas. I do love Christmas romance stories, both reading and writing them. Alas, it was not meant to be this year. Back in early November I was working hard on the next story in my Wedding Troubles Series. I'm happy to report the next story is drafted with a couple of edits done. It still needs some work, but looking at the calendar, I decided to set it aside and do a Christmas romance. I had a story mostly drafted when disaster struck. My main computer died. Usually I'm really good about backing things up. Except, you know, sometimes I get lazy. Needless to say, I've not been able to access the hard drive yet to see if I can retrieve that story. Being ambitious, I started a whole new story, but as time when on, it became apparent there was no way I could do a story that fast.   When I first set up this site, FeedBurner had a nice subscribe by email option built into the site. I really appreciated it. FeedBurner was by no means perfect, but then again, nothing is. Google eventually shut down the subscribe by email part of FeedBurner. Like many other bloggers, I searched for a replacement. Like many others, I opted to go with follow.it for this service. Again, this was not a perfect option, but let’s go back to nothing is perfect. With follow.it, they placed ads in the emails, which were not too obtrusive. I figured I could live with this for now. If I gained more subscribers, I’d either go for a paid version of follow.it to remove the ads or something else. I always subscribe to my own blog so that way I can monitor things and make sure they work. I also subscribe to a few other bloggers who use the same service. A few months ago, I noticed that instead of putting my post content in the email, follow.it instead sent a link to click on to read the post. I...

  I’m always struggling to get my shit together and be more productive in life. Most especially my writing. If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, then you already know this. I’ve talked about this in several posts on this blog. Back in May , I wrote a post about all the things I was working on. As always, I got lazy and didn’t really work on any of it. It was also back in May when I came up with the idea for my latest story, The Worst Man. That story sort of took my attention over everything else I was planning on doing, like learning how to build eBooks without an online converter, and other things I talked about in that post. As a result, when it came time to publish that story, I yet again used the Reedsy editor to convert my story to ePub. Which is fine. I love the Reedsy converter, and I was even thinking that maybe I’d just stick with it.   I know, I know. I said I'd have this story out last month and that didn't happen. Sadly life stuff has been getting in the way of my progress. I've gotten a handle on most of that this past week and I'm back to making progress. With that said I thought I'd do a cover reveal for my upcoming story The Worst Man , as well as a quick update. If you haven't been following along, this is going to be the first in a series of wedding themed stories. All the stories will be stand alone, but revolve around a wedding theme. This story is finished except for a final read through and a few other administrative things I need to do for it. With all of that said, this story should be out by next weekend. I will of course do a blog post when it goes live. I've already started on the next story in this series. Hopefully, I will have it out sometime in October. Only time will tell.   I have exciting news. Or at least I think it is. I finally have a series underway. So far, the first story is drafted, and I’m heading into the final round of edits. The second story is coming together. As of now, this will be a four-book series. I have tentatively titled this series: Wedding Troubles. These will be stand alone stories that revolve around a wedding theme. The title of the series is subject to change, but as of now it is the best I can come up with, and I feel it fits the stories I’m writing. The first story is titled, The Worst Man . You know, instead of the best man in the wedding, this guy, according to the heroine, is the worst man. Still keeping a play on words for weddings, the second story will be titled, The Maid of Dishonor . This past week has been too hot for words. No, wait, I’m a writer, I could give all kinds of words do describe it. But it’s really too hot and I'm too lazy to bother. I swear I’m turning into an old curmudgeon. This past winter I moaned and complained about the cold, but now I’m not happy with the heat. Next thing I know I’ll be yelling at kids to get off my lawn. Except, there are no kids where I live, so I shall stay young until then and put forth an effort to stop complaining about the weather. 😎 On that note, and despite the heat, I have been hard at work. I have finally gotten started on a few of the things I mentioned in my last post but haven’t implemented anything yet, but I’m getting there.   I have started to write a blog post several times over the past few weeks, or is it months now? Considering my last post was in February, I guess it has been months. It was past time to sit down and spew something out of my little grey matter and get it posted. Yes, yes, I know, at the start of the year I was going to do a weekly post. Declared it loud and proud on this little blog of mine. I even managed it for a short time. A very short time. Oh well. I’ll not talk about how life got in the way again and blah, blah, blah.   I’m sure I’ve mentioned on here before my desire to write a series. My first two stories were part of a series, but I didn’t get past two books in The Office After Hours . I suppose I could write another story in that series. That thought occurred to me recently. My next series, Holiday Wishes , only had two stories in it until this past December when I finally wrote the third story for that series. I came up with the brilliant idea to write a winter themed series. Because, you know, it’s winter. I’m a seasonal person. I don’t know why this is, or how I became this way, or if I was just born for the seasons. When it is winter, I want to read things set in winter. I’ve read plenty of romances with winter themes during the winter months. When it’s summer, I want to read something with more of a summer theme.   If you read my last post, then you know I was getting all productive with things at long last. I’d even committed to doing a weekly blog post. Everything was great. I was excited. I was making progress daily. I . . . I came down with the flu. Yeah, so obviously no big blog post last week as I was on the couch too tired to do anything except sleep. I was also on target to get a new story out last week. None of that happened. The flu bug totally took me down. I am finally feeling better and trying to get back into things. In my part of the world, we went through extreme cold temperatures the last several days, which did nothing to help with my sudden stop in productivity. Right now I need to re-orient myself with where I was at on my up coming story and remind myself of what needs done yet.   What to talk about today? Honestly, I have nothing. So why am I here with a blog post if I have nothing? In trying to make goals for the year, I decided to be more active on here. I want to write and post more. Why? Because I enjoy doing this. Sometime ago, I began a blog under a different name with a different focus. My goal was to post weekly. I’d read somewhere that when doing an author blog, that was a good pace to go at. When I started that now neglected blog, that’s what I did. I sat down and wrote something, anything, once a week and posted it. To my surprise, I lasted longer at it than I thought I would. I think I had even picked a day to post. Maybe it was Monday or Wednesday? I don’t remember. I could check, but I can’t be bothered right now. It’s not really important. What is important is I’d stuck to the weekly blogging for some time and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I hope everyone had a happy and healthy holiday season. Can’t believe it’s all over with. I swear it lasted all of five minutes then, poof! it was gone. Yes, it’s that time again. Time to make goals for the new year. At the start of every year, I write down goals or things I want to achieve for the year. Rarely do I achieve them, stick with them, or remember them by February. I try again throughout the year, remaking goals and such, with the same results. As I was making my ill-fated list of goals for the year, I thought about why I don’t reach them. That is the problem I need to tackle. How to stick with my list and actually reach my goals. Some goals I achieve, but most of them, not so much. Did you ever have that thought? You know the one where you think, gee this pair of shoes is falling apart and I should buy a new pair. Except you don’t because you love those shoes, they are comfy. Then, without warning, they fall apart and now you have to find a new pair. You can substitute shoes for any item you may have had this thought for. Like maybe a car. You know, you need to buy one because your rust bucket is making another new noise, but you put it off or don’t have the money, etc. You’re driving along one day and next thing you know you’re limping the poor hunk of metal off the road as best you can and calling for a tow truck. I’m still trying to move forward with things and get stories written. When I wrote my last post, my little noodle brain was trying to figure things out. Sometimes I feel as though my noodle brain is just that - a pile of useless noodles. Ah, well, I love ramen noodles, so there’s that. One thing I thought of when trying to move forward was Christmas romance stories. It is that time of year again.   I follow quite a few blogs, one or two of them I read daily. I also subscribe to some YouTube channels of content creators that I find interesting. I try not to watch those daily because, you know, YouTube has millions of cat videos. I shouldn’t have to say anymore on that.🐱 Recently, someone I follow on YouTube decided to do a 100 day challenge of posting videos. I found this challenge admirable and wondered if I should set some sort of writing challenge for myself. These kinds of things inspire me. Thirty days in, this YouTuber threw in the towel on the challenge. The YouTuber listed the reasons why and that he was not quitting YouTube, just the self-imposed challenge. He was going to try something else. I follow a blog by a professional writer who has set similar challenges with writing over the years. Many times he’s succeed, but a few times he has not. Whao! Would you look at this, a cover reveal. Obviously I've been working on another story. The title is Guard My Body. It's about a hot protective bodyguard and a writer. Because who doesn't want a hot bodyguard as a book-boyfriend? Writing this story has been a lot of fun, I'm about to enter the final stages of it and hope to have this story out by the end of this month. When I was finishing up Beach Fling with a Biker I wasn't sure what I was going to write next. The past few stories I've used the Reedsy editor to format my manuscripts to upload to Amazon. It has saved me a lot of time with formatting. I noticed on the Reedsy site they have a plot generator. So I decided to check it out. It spit out an idea about a bodyguard, which intrigued me, but I also dismissed it.   Thought I'd give a quick update. If you've been following along then you know that last summer I was writing a beach story . Every thing was going well until I was struck down with a tired spell. I've also come up with an idea for a series of stories. Then I was torn about which to pursue first. I've done some noodling with the series, but nothing has quite gelled with that yet. I decided to uncover that beach story to see what I had and to my surprise it was close to being finished. Since it was almost done I decided to finish it and make it my next release. I still have a lot of work to do before I can get it out. My hope is after this story I can get a better writing routine going and stay with it. I have my fingers crossed that I don't get struck down by some weird illness and things of that nature. Some days I wonder if I should keep pursuing this whole writing thing? If I'm not getting in my own way, then it's an illness that lasts over six months. I finally get better, get past myself and think, yeah, now I'm going full speed ahead with writing and this is awesome! Then. . . Then something happens. Is it always going to be this way? Is it this way for other writers I often wonder? Are these some sort of divine tests to see if I have what it takes to keep on going? Who knows. So what happened this time? My sweet and beautiful house rabbit chewed my laptop cord. Again. Sometimes, electrical tape will do the trick. Not this time. She chewed the whole way through it. Just a small piece of the outer black plastic holding the cord together. The inner wires completely severed. There were other chew marks on the cord. What I don't understand is how she does this without getting electrocuted. Do rabbits have a natural ground that prevents this? No idea. Is this the fist ...
